Barnaby & Co – New Interiors Destination

One of the things I’ve really loved since moving house and starting the blog is coming across new interiors brands and companies and last weekend Pete and I spent a lovely couple of hours meeting the owners of Barnaby & Co, an online lifestyle and homewares shop.

Julianna, who has set up the business with her partner John, got in touch via the blog to see if I would be interested in going along to her pop-up taking place across the weekend at The Residence Gallery in East London. I’m always so excited when interiors-related emails pop into my inbox and on perusing the lovely website there were already plenty of pieces screaming “Buy Me!” before we’d even seen them in the flesh.

So on a lovely sunny Saturday early evening, we hopped in the car and took a short drive to the gallery, receiving the warmest welcome and a glass of bubbles on arrival. Looking around, I could see just how much effort and attention to detail Julianna has put into curating her interiors collection which features beautiful pieces from art, homeware, accessories, stationery and deskware.

The inspiration behind Barnaby & Co comes from Julianna and John’s own home renovations projects, having refurbished 3 homes in 4 years, a feat which I am completely in-awe of especially considering our own renovation project will probably be underway for the next 20 years! They work with designer-makers in the UK and across the globe to bring their customers a range of design led pieces for the home which are different from regular high street finds but also at an affordable price.

Talking to them both was hugely engaging and it’s clear to see the immense passion they have for the business. Similarly to me, Julianna has a full-time job (although she is soon to be leaving to focus on Barnaby & Co) and as a small business owner it made me realise how fortunate we are to have our respective ventures.

Of course we couldn’t resist a bit of shopping for our own home project and ended up picking up this amazing pineapple lampshade which is already up:

Pina Lampshade Medium Rosa & Clara Designs, £55

We added to our shopping with this fab tea towel (which sums me up perfectly!) that I want to frame, these coasters and some cute little thank you cards.

All Things Wild & Free Tea Towel Mellybee, £10

Cocktail Coasters Stuart Gardiner, £15

thankyoucards

Thank You Mini Note Cards Mellybee, £5

I’m so impressed with their eye to select all these gorgeous items and have no doubt that the business will be a phenomenal success. Their next pop-up is already booked for 5th to 18th October at POP in Brixton which is perfect (Christmas) shopping time and of course everything is available online at their website.

Keep up-to-date with Barnaby & Co online via their Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts too.

All of that looks fab, and I may pop over and take a look as I need a couple of lampshades for our other spare bedroom, as I’ve decided the ones I have in there need replacing 🙂 #homeetc
