Finishing Touches With Decorative Lighting

iconilightslivingroom

When we’ve been planning redecorations and renovations for our home, lighting has so far always played an important part – so important in fact that often it’s the first thing I choose before thinking about wall colours or even where the light will go. A backwards way of decorating most definitely.

I’m not a huge fan of central pendant lighting which is too harsh for a cosy ambience and typically choose floor or table lamps but I’m also a little bit enamoured with the current trend for more decorative lighting.

With this in mind, when Iconic Lights got in touch asking if I’d like to pick something from their latest collection for our home I knew I’d be able to find the perfect accessory lights to add a fun, finishing touch no matter what the room or style.

I really love the range that Iconic Lights carry and you can see my previous post about styling a retro movie themed floor lamp in one of our spare rooms as well as adding a pop of copper to our dining room with a gorgeous lampshade.

This time I decided to think about what would look fun in our newly-finished home office or that could be repurposed in other rooms as we get them finished and opted for the Decorative ‘And’ Shaped Wall Hanging Light. Now whilst this is actually a wall hanging light, to me it’s the perfect height and size to use as a standalone piece and actually at 21cm tall I thought would look better on a shelf or cupboard than on the wall.

The light itself is battery operated, requiring 3 AA batteries which can be slotted into a little box behind the sign and activated with a small switch. It has 8 warm white LEDs and is made of metal with an industrial-style finish.

At just £15 the light would make a great gift and is so reasonably priced it’s definitely a must-have home accessory if you like a little bit of modern style and typography. For the time being I think we’ll be alternating ours between the office and living room…or maybe I should just get a second one?

I was asked to select a product from the new Iconic Lights collection as a blogging ambassador in return for a post. Unless otherwise stated all images, words and opinions are my own.

I’m the opposite! Whilst I love browsing gorgeous lights they’re inevitably something I never spend money on (the floor lamp I snapped up on Sunday being the one exception in the entire 18 months we’ve lived here!). The ‘And’ light looks fun and you should definitely get a second one! x

It sounds like a better way of doing things, getting the main stuff done first and then accessorizing afterwards. My lack of logic knows no bounds! X

Super cute choice, Lins. Ampersands seem to be everywhere at the mo. I have a cup with it on and it’s so cool.

I am so loving this trend at the moment too, we have a star light that seems to be moved from room to room, maybe I should buy more too. I think the battery thing is fab and does make them so versatile xx

It’s really helpful isn’t it to be able to cart them about and for me I think something of this size is better on display rather than on a wall. Thanks so much for stopping by Xx
