I’ve only been back at work for four days and already Christmas feels like a distant memory. Getting back into the swing of things is never as bad as I think it will be and actually, as someone who likes to live life at a million miles an hour, I was definitely ready to get stuck back into blogging, home renovation projects and work. Sitting around without any purpose as the days drift from one to another isn’t my strength and then there’s the small matter of too much chocolate…so its been blissful to be celebrating the little triumphs to kickstart 2017.
Sunrises & Frosty Mornings
There have been a few early starts to try and catch up with work but actually I don’t mind too much. The trains are quieter and the views so wonderful, like the shot above as I crossed London Bridge on my way to the office and this shot from our local park. London might be a massive city but there’s beauty to be found at every turn if you learn to stop and appreciate it.
Ever since we had our logburner fitted, I’d been searching for the perfect companion set. Most we came across were too old-fashioned or too cheap-looking but we finally settled on the Rais version which I’d seen in another blogger’s home. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law bought us the set for Christmas and it’s the perfect finishing touch for our fireplace. I’d been using a carving knife for over a year to poke the logs so it’s wonderful to finally have the right tools for the job.
Handbags & Hot Chocolate
Pete bought me this beautiful Kate Spade bag for Christmas after I saw it when we were in New York and it’s come everywhere with me since. It’s a great size to be fit all my essentials in and goes with everything owing to the neutral colour. Even my nails and hot chocolate – unplanned coordination is the best.
Time For A Change
We had a pretty quiet weekend, taking down the Christmas decorations and having a bit of an early spring clean. On Sunday I took advantage of the peace and quiet and made my way to The Box in Deptford for a bit of an image change. I’ve struggled for an eternity to find the right hair-dresser but think this is finally the one for me as Laura coloured and then chopped my hair into shape. It was a long appointment but what better way to spend a few hours than with a bit of ‘me time’. And I’m a little smitten with the new look.
I hope you’ve had a lovely week X
