It’s a cosy Sunday evening, Pete has treated himself to a PS4 and is currently playing Assassin’s Creed and Boo is curled up on the sofa next to me. I love weekends where nothing much happens but we get a few bits and pieces done around the house. It feels very much like we’ve got the bit between our teeth at the moment, not taking on anything Herculean but realising there are so many things we can do ourselves and so we’re getting stuff done.
Finished Painting The Bedroom
I can’t remember exactly when I decided to paint the bedroom but it was only 3-4 weeks ago and now it’s done. A rare moment of proactive behaviour from me, normally there’s an idea and then I sit on it forever. We’ve gone from a dirty insipid blue to a beautiful pale grey and it looks amazing. We’ve had a small rejig of furniture and somehow the room seems a lot bigger. Now comes the fun part, shopping for accessories!
Woodland Dog Walks
The lady that walks Maddie (I hate calling her our ‘dog walker’, it makes me sound like I have servants :)) isn’t well at the moment so Pete and I are juggling our working days at little bit. I’m sure Maddie would be fine by herself. For 12 hours. Without the chance to go to the toilet or have any human interaction. Shut in. You see where I’m going, don’t you? I know dogs aren’t children but they are a responsibility and it’s really not wise to leave any dog alone all day. It’s given me the chance, along with the lighter evenings, to head up into Elmstead Woods which are about 10 minutes walk from home and spend some quality time with my girl, enjoying the last of the spring blossom.
Friday Night Mini Golf Fun
I hope my colleagues don’t mind me writing about this but it just goes to show what a brilliant bunch of people I work with. On Friday night we headed to Shoreditch and spent a fab and hilarious hour indulging in crazy golf at Junkyard Golf Club. If you’re a Londoner and haven’t been I totally recommend it. We then stopped at The Big Chill afterwards for drinks.
Another working week lies ahead but at least at the end is a Bank Holiday weekend. I hope you’ve had a lovely week and have a brilliant one ahead X
