What a lovely time we had last week – if you follow me on Instagram you’ll know that we took a little holiday down to Cornwall and Devon for the week.
I’m still daydreaming about what a wonderful break it was, especially for someone like me who previously hasn’t ever been fussed about taking breaks in the UK and much prefers jetting off to the other side of the world. My head has definitely been turned a little bit now though.
I won’t go into too much detail here of what we did each day and will save them for separate posts, but last Saturday we packed up the car complete with Maddie and drove from London down to Penzance. We stayed there for two nights, doing some coastal walking, visiting the Lizard and St Ives, before heading on to Boscastle on Monday.
Whilst based in Boscastle we did some local exploring as well as visiting Padstow, and then headed from there on Wednesday down to Bere Ferrers in Devon to stay with my aunt for a few days, before heading back to London on Saturday.
We got incredibly lucky with the weather as it only rained once on our last evening and we were in the pub anyway so it didn’t matter at all. We ate cream teas and walked miles, we paddled in the sea and watched the world go by. We drank local cider in local pubs and slept soundly every night, full of sea air and chips.
