Monday Catch Up #17

How the weeks feel as though they’re flying past at the moment, and even better the weekends have been so lovely and sunny with the rain saving itself for the week when I’m at work, yay!

Similarly to last week, there were a few soggy post-work dog walks this week but at least we’re used to that in the UK.

Thankfully after a fairly unexciting start to the week, my work from home day on Thursday zoomed in and with Pete off the to the US for work, it was just me and Maddie for the rest of the week. After work, I headed into town to meet up with the owner of interiors company Barnaby & Co, Julianna. She had tickets to the VIP evening at Tent & SuperBrands which was part of London Design Festival 2015 taking place at the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane and we wandered around like kids in a sweet shop, oohing and aahing at all the amazing designs. I’ll be writing a separate post about this so won’t add to many photos now but you can catch up with we saw over on my Instagram account.

On Friday I got home to find our dahlias are also enjoying this late summer burst, and we had a lovely sunny dog walk in the park before settling in for a night of movies. It felt blissful just to kick back and relax which is something I don’t do enough of.

On Saturday we set off for Surbiton Festival, I traded there a couple of years ago and knew that a lot of my market friends would be there so thought it would be ideal to catch up with them and tire the dog out in the process. A train, the underground, another train – it was challenging with the dog but she was great and slept for the rest of the day once we got home. It was super busy at the festival but I managed to see everyone I wanted to including Jules who owns Lazy Lizards in the pic below. We’ve done a lot of markets together over the years and she’s such a laugh.

Sunday I had one million plans for things I wanted to do but in the end it came down to baking and more R&R – Pete had left me a little goodie box hidden away and sent me a message to tell me it was waiting for me. What a love. sunny sunday
