This week has been all about drinking Prosecco, on a school night, just because! We’re barely drinking at all at the moment, Pete is now half way through his Men’s Health 12 week transformation and I’m literally AY-MAYZED at how well he’s doing. It’s like an entirely different person is in my house, not just in how he looks but in how he feels – there’ll be more to come once he completes it but for now, if I do fancy a drink occasionally it’s a bit like Sad Sack from the Raggy Dolls and drinking all on my lonesome. All the more for me then!
It’s been another busy week of firing on all cylinders, more stock arrived for DCB and some really lovely blogging opportunities pinged into my inbox too – I’m still so overwhelmed that people read it, that like-minded companies want to work with me and find the whole thing incredibly humbling. I know I have such a long way to go in the grand scheme of blogging and am such a novice still but I do love it so. On Wednesday I popped along to Somerset House for an evening of floristry styling tips using some amazing faux flowers from HomeSense – my post on the experience is here. I love blogging not just for the opportunity to write after training as a journalist many years ago, but also for exploring my lovely London and trying new challenges.
Aside from heading out and about, it’s been a case of hunkering down with comforting tea and dark chocolate and wrapping up on frosty morning journeys to work.
And the week wouldn’t be complete without a couple of little treats too, firstly this lovely dress that I bought from a lifestyle shop where we used to live in Forest Hill. It was £20 in the sale and totally something I would never have gone for but I really love it and stepping outside my comfort zone when it comes to fashion.
This brilliant mug also arrived from Ellen Waldren and it’s my new mantra. I came across Ellen on Instagram and knew the mug would be perfect for the never-ending cups of tea I get through as a business owner and blogger. Sometimes you need that little extra bit of motivation.
On Saturday we headed out for a long overdue run in the morning. I’ve taken a bit of time off running whilst I haven’t been too well but have decided to get back into it because I don’t want to be overly reliant on medicine. It felt good but a lot more food is needed to keep me sustained at the moment so we’ll see how it goes. We popped into town after that for a visit to the Vogue100 exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, featuring all the Vogue covers in their 100 years history. I’d absolutely recommend seeing this if you can, a fascinating display of how the magazine has reflected the times and how fashions have changed.
On Sunday we celebrated – not Valentine’s Day but the second anniversary of unlocking the door to our forever home as we picked up the keys on Valentine’s Day 2014. We had a few errands to run but did stop off for a romantically-themed hot chocolate and finally finished our home office renovations which I’m going to share in a later post…watch this space!
