Cinemas, hair-cuts and gluten-free pizza making summed up last week – not to mention a party at the Electric Ballroom on Friday night! No wonder I’m feeling a little under the weather right now…
On Monday after work we popped to the cinema in Greenwich to see Bone Tomahawk, a film we’d read about in the paper just the weekend before that looked so good and sounded to intriguing we couldn’t say no. As a bonus we discovered that the cinema does half price tickets on Mondays and it was just £5 a ticket instead of the normal £10 AND I got to stock up on the most amazing gluten free salted caramel brownies at the cinema’s revamped cafe.
The film was amazing but it’s rightly an 18. Hiding behind my hands at times was pointless when you can hear everything regardless. Such fantastic characterisation by Kurt Russell and my childhood crush Matthew Fox from the days of Party of Five but it sure has stayed with me. See it if you like slow-moving Westerns with a gruesome twist…
Tuesday was all about new nail colours and heading back to the hairdressers for a trim and re-colour. I’ve made a commitment to start looking after my hair and got it cut properly between Christmas and New Year for the first time in two years. I’ve now finally found the perfect local hairdresser, Escape Hair in Sundridge Park, and so every 8-10 weeks I pop along to keep it in good condition. I love this post that Kat wrote about why she’s decided to look after her nails and I feel the same about my hair. We tried a new colour “Caramel” which I’m so in love with and think will be a keeper.
Wednesday I had a much needed day off to catch up with blogging and DaisychainBaby, so camped out in our little home office and having lunchtime cuddles with the pup.
This beautiful pouf which I won in an Instagram competition also arrived from Hawk & Thorn, I’m keeping it upstairs for now away from chewing dogs and it goes so well with our sofa bed too.
On Thursday after work I headed off to a fun blogging event in conjunction with personalised gifting service I Just Love It. We were tasked with creating our own personalised pizzas at La Cucina Caldesi in Marylebone and it was fantastic. You can see my gluten-free creation at the top of this post, not too shabby for a first timer! There’ll be a full post to follow and you can see more photos over on our Facebook page.
Friday was party night in honour of my colleague Patricia’s birthday. I have many photos of our escapades but I’ll respect their privacy and keep them offline 😉 We headed to a couple of bars near the office and then on to Camden for Ultimate Power at the Electric Ballroom – if you’re a child of the 80s then it really is the perfect venue for singing and dancing complete with inflatable guitars!
Needless t0 say after such a busy week the weekend was thankfully low key, hibernating by the fire and catching up with household chores.
Hope you’ve had a lovely week X
