Peep Inside A Dreamy Location Home

1st Option Location Home

It’s high-time I confessed something. I feel like I can be honest to you, my lovely readers, and admit to being a property voyeur, aka lover of ‘property porn’. I’m not quite at the stage of needing to check myself into a support group but Mr D would definitely describe me as a nosy sort. I love nothing more than running the residential streets of some of the areas I live near (Blackheath, Sundridge Park) and checking out the very swish, incredibly expensive homes and wondering what it might be like to live in a location home.

For some reason I’ve never joined the dots. When I see an incredible location home in a magazine, TV show or film, they seem so glamorous. So much so that it’s hard to imagine a normal, day to day life taking place behind such a beautiful facade. I’ve often assumed that especially when it comes to films, the homes you are see are simply sets, created specifically for a shoot and then not used again.

If you want to indulge in some serious property porn, then look no further than London’s leading shoot locations agency, 1st Option. I had what I thought would be a quick 5 minute glance at their website and then immediately lost two hours scrolling from property to property. And of course, plotting my next move if the Euromillions should land in my lap.

Here are just 5 to take a further look at, even though it’s almost impossible to pick!

Adventure, SE24

Pink armchairs. Floating shelves. Cactus. Geometric coffee table. Brass-framed round mirror. Berber-style rug. I’ll take it all please. Location Home Love #1

Blackheath, SE3

This one has to be a contender mainly because it’s just round the corner from me. Can we say hello, indoor swimming pool of dreams? I also love the combination of period property which has been modernised and the style is super-sleek. Location Home Love #2

Dusk, Sussex

Because LOOK AT THE COLOUR! What a beautiful dusky pink. And it’s beautifully old, just imagine the secrets those walls could share if they could talk. And the grounds. And the views. I mean really, you have some crazy fun in a house like this. Location Home Love #3

Perry, SE23

This happens to be our old postcode so of course I couldn’t resist a snoop. We were renting in this part of London for 4 years before we bought our home just down the road and loved it there. This property jumped out at me for the panelling and radiators, whilst they don’t look original they do look gorgeous. Location Home Love #4

I think that PERRY is Perry Rise, the home of 2LG the designer duo. It even has their wallpapers in. I have been there so definitely recognise the living room!

Ohhhh I was wondering about that! So when I first moved to Forest Hill, we lived on a road called Trilby Road and after about a year or so down at the bottom a house was being renovated in the most exquisite style and we’d drive past it and comment how lovely it looked. Turned out to be 2LG, I think pretty much their very first project before they even had the studio or anything like that. I recognised the wallpaper from Perry too, but didn’t realise they were on Perry Rise now.

Hahahaa Pete and I have endless conversations about what we would do if we won the money and then realise we don’t even play 🙂

I think I need to stay away from that website, or like you, will suddenly loose a few hours of my life. I’m always fascinated to see how people utilise the space in different ways.
