Interiors: Planning A #Bathroomfor2

wayfaircover

We’re very fortunate to have two bathrooms at home, one on the first floor and an en-suite as part of our top floor master bedroom. You’d think that as there are only two of us, there would never be any bathroom squabbles but as both of them are in dire need of making-over, it can get a bit stressful as we bicker over the one working shower (we have a shower over the bath in the en-suite and two showers over the bath in the main bathroom, neither of which work!) and stupidly ineffectual storage space.

When Wayfair got in touch asking if I’d pick out my favourite bathroom essentials for their #bathroomfor2 campaign and let my other half know about it in a pretend letter, I couldn’t resist indulging in a bit of tongue-in-cheek…

Darling,

We’ve been in our lovely home now for nearly 2 years and we’re still no further forward making plans to renovate our bathrooms! I’m fed up always fighting over who goes in the shower first and why we can never find anything. And you know what? It would be uh-may-zing if you maybe, you know, cleaned a little, once in a while? Here are some lovely items I’ve chosen seeing as you don’t seem to be interested. Just remember the mantra – happy wife, happy life!

So I need this toilet brush holder – and in my favourite colour too! I think it’s stylish angle may be just what you need to get cleaning those toilets because in case you hadn’t noticed they don’t clean themselves.

This shower caddy would be perfect for all my our lotions and potions, seeing as how you never throw any empty bottles away and wouldn’t take up too much space either (and whilst we’re thinking about it, check out those beautiful tiles too…)

I’m feeling a bit down since all my allergies have been confirmed, especially now I can’t have any beauty products with SLS in them! It’s amazing once you start looking how many daily products have an ingredient which is so harmful. So now I need to restock, what about this stainless steel soap dispenser? Three will do nicely, one for each bathroom and one for the kitchen sink handwash too. We must be co-ordinated you know ๐Ÿ˜‰

Last but by no means least, what do you think of this heated towel rail? I love the design and having a wall-mounted one means we could free up so much space and have space for all the towels in one place!

I hope you appreciate all the effort I’ve gone to to find more great things for our home, we’ve got no excuse now so let’s get on with it!!

Thanks so much to Wayfair for providing me with the opportunity to do this creativeย post. You’ll be pleased to know that I’m much kinder to my lovely husband and he in turn is totally hands on with cleaning AND is really very tidy.ย The only truth here is that I have recently been diagnosed with an allergy to sodium laurel sulphates so it will be out with all my existing skincare regime and in with a new one.

Sadly both our en-suite and bathroom renovations are certainly not in the pipeline to be done in the near future and will more likely be 2017/2018 projects but if you’re thinking of overhauling yours then check out the fantastic range of bathroom accessories available on the Wayfair website.

Sorry to hear about the allergies Lins, but at least you know so can do your best to avoid them. In a way I’m sure not knowing wasn’t so great. Love the things you’ve chosen and that radiator/towel rail is just fab. I think with a bathroom it’s important not to scrimp (not that I think you would!) but you know it’s going to be there for years…. x #homeetc

I love your fake letter. I’m sure my husband thinks our bathroom is self cleaning too! Accessories can really make the room especially if you aren’t doing a full makeover. I love the towel rail you picked out. Sorry to hear about your allergies, I hope you can find some nice smellies that are safe for your skin. #HomeEtc

Thank you Louisa, I think most men seem to have a cleaning gene conveniently missing from them ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ve now come across the fantastic range Dr Organic which is all SLS free and doesn’t break the bank either!! X

You could have been writing to my husband! The not cleaning and not throwing away empty bottles is spot on.
    Pity about your allergies.

Haha generally Pete is brilliant but he does have a habit of finishing things and putting them back in the cupboard, funnily enough more so in the kitchen with cereal packets and jars. Drives me crazy!!

OHMYGOODNESS!! SLS!!!!! I absolutely HATE it!!!! I went on a mission to find a shampoo that didn’t have it โ€” finally (after trying loads) settled on a fabulous one called Naked Shine โ€” and it’s now been discontinued!!! Happily I’ve found another that I quite like โ€” called Kind Natured. Love your bathroom pics Lins โ€” especially the shower caddy. Thanks so much for linking up with us! #HomeEtc
