It’s finally time for one of my favourite seasons. Everyone seemed overjoyed when autumn arrived and ‘hygge’ took over the entire world but I love light and warmth. It suits my personality and makes me feel so motivated.
We’ve recently started a big spring clean which has left some corners of our home looking a little empty and I’ve been on the hunt for a side table in the living room. Our big square coffee table is inherited from Pete’s previous house and is wonderful but just out of reach of the sofas so I was delighted when Wayfair got in touch to see if would be interested in working with them on a ‘gold’ theme, picking one of their side tables to style.
I’m always a little late to the trends party and metallics didn’t appeal to me straight away. Now I adore them, especially as some parts of our house are quite bland since we’re not going to be redecorating for a while. And whilst my whole Instagram timeline has switched from monochrome to dark walls, I just love the simplicity of white, minimalism and clean lines. It’s so calming and now there is the perfect blogging corner to relax in after a day’s work.
The gold side table has a stunning geometric design and fits perfectly in the corner between our sofa and fireplace. The mirrored top gives it an extra level of style and is the perfect spot for a faux orchid. If you’ve never tried faux plants before then you must, I was the biggest cynic but with an incredibly curious cat who clambers onto every available surface, real flowers and plants are a bit of a no-no now. Plus, my fingers are by no means green. This way, we have a beautiful looking plant without any of the maintenance is a winner all round.
Last but by no means least, there’s just enough space for a scented candle which is an absolute must when you’re a fur-baby Mama. For me, candles aren’t just for the darker months, I use them all year round favouring clean fresh scents. My candle of choice at the moment is the Bamboo Green Tea, burning soy wax and smelling divine.
This little corner of our living room has gone from tragic to comforting and is now my new favourite space to be in the house. Now, where’s that glass of wine?
