Home Etc #149

Team! I’m so excited to announce we’re starting work on the next phase of our living room renovation. If you wonder what on earth I’m talking about and why it takes us so long to do anything, well it comes down to money really. So whilst we’ve replaced the windows and sorted out the fireplace, things ground to a halt whilst we worked on other projects.

Now though, we finally have an electrician coming in mid-June who’s going to sort our ceiling lighting and add some more plug sockets (1930s homes didn’t really do electricity very well). Once he’s done we can get rid of the artex ceiling and replaster the room. I’ve made it very clear to Pete that I’m not spending another Christmas with the living room in its current state so it’s full steam ahead for the next 6 months and I can’t WAIT.

Are you working on any big projects at the moment? We’re very guilty of doing nothing for ages and then it all happens at once. Better late than never and all that jazz.

For now though, on to Home Etc and last week’s linkups!

THE HOME ETC FAVOURITE

The favourite post from last week comes from Meera at First Sense Interiors who is about to undertake a hugely exciting and big home renovation. In her post that we loved, she’s sharing her 5 sources for unique kitchen inspiration which is perfect for me and our future kitchen plans when we build onto the back of our house, hopefully next year!

Congratulations Meera, you’re entered into our monthly Laura Ashley voucher prize!

Now it’s your turn, please do join in with any home/upcycling/DIY/craft/interiors-related posts.

HOW TO LINK UP…

All we ask is that you follow these 3 little rules:

1) Please include our lovely #HomeEtc badge at the bottom of your post.

2) You may link up to two posts — new or old — but no more than two posts each week please.

3) Please be kind enough to comment on your HOSTS’ POSTS which will always be the first two entries in the link up, plus a couple of others.

Blog hops only work if you’re as generous with your comments as you are at sharing your posts.

Be sure to tweet us @booandmaddie or @twinklediaries with the url to your post, using the hashtag #HomeEtc and we will always retweet. We will pick 1 favourite post each week then at the end of the month we’ll choose an overall winner.

This lucky blogger will receive a £20 voucher from our fabulous sponsor Laura Ashley.

Don’t forget to keep using the #HomeEtc hashtag on Instagram too! We just love to see your Instagram photographs and remember next week your host is Caro!

So happy you liked my kitchen post, Lins! 🙂 We have a big project in the planning too: an extension plus a lot of jiggery pokery internally to change the spaces we already have in our 1930s home. Sounds like we’re all at it 😉

Yay – harness the enthusiasm, you know you’re going to need it 🙂 Week 3 of builders here and I’m done with it and want my house back and they’re “only” in the conservatory. Actually it’s not true, I want my garden back, they’re stuff is dotted about the place…. 😉

Haha I can completely understand that, right now I feel so impatient to get underway with everything but I know that once I do have people coming and going it will drive me crazy! X
