The Show Must Go On & WIN With MyVQ

MyVQ Bohemian Rhapsody

This is a very apt blog post title considering the state of home life at the moment. Furniture piled higgledy-piggledy all over the place and I genuinely haven’t cleaned in what feels like forever. Home renovations have a habit of taking over don’t they? I know I should be taking time out for the gym, to see friends and generally live a little but am finding everything a bit all-encompassing at the moment.

Someone who knew all about living life to the max, albeit a life cut tragically short, is my beloved Freddie Mercury. The first person at my fantasy dinner table, the one person I’ll bitterly regret for the rest of my life never being old enough to have seen before he passed away. I was only 11 in 1991 when the news came through of his death. You may wonder what on earth I would have known about Queen when I was so young, but I’m eternally grateful to have a 13 year age gap with my brother which means that my earliest memories are of proper music when the rest of my friends would have been watching Postman Pat. When I was 5 my brother was 18. 80’s music was never retro and always current.

It also helps that Pete is 10 years older than me and a music boffin (we’ve had bespoke cupboards built for his multi-thousand CD collection!) and we properly geek out over the endless Queen documentaries you can always find on Sky Arts. Whilst I feel sad that Freddie Mercury didn’t live longer WHAT an amazing life to have lived. You always get the sense that he never had any regrets and how many of us can say that?

I’m super excited about the upcoming Queen biopic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ which is released on October 24th in the UK. I’ve seen the trailer a few times and think Rami Malek looks amazing in the lead role. To celebrate the launch of the film, Twentieth Century Fox have teamed up with MyVQ to offer an AMAZING prize which I’m crazy jealous about.

Here’s the prize to end all prizes:

  • A private VIP tour of Queen hotspots around London, including Movie Film Sets, Recording Studios, Iconic Gig Locations and Freddie Mercury’s Home.
  • Enjoy an exclusive dining experience at Freddie Mercury’s favourite nightspot in the now named “Mercury Room” followed by a gloriously 70’s theme night out.
  • Prize includes three nights luxury hotel accommodation.

To enter, all you need to do is purchase a MyVQ radio between now and November 12th and enter the product details here by Christmas to be in with a chance of winning. The prize winner will be drawn the first week in January and if I can’t enter I hope the winner is you!! I know I’ll be off to see the movie very soon and if you do go, let me know what you think. Now, back to this renovation of ours and trying to ignore ‘I Want To Break Free’ running through my head…
