I’m currently curled up on the sofa with the intention of writing but being constantly distracted by MTV’s ‘Top 90s Dance Classics’ – so unproductive! What is making me happy however is the beautifully scented reed diffuser sitting on our side table which I recently received to try from the super stylish Mini Moderns.
If you love interiors you’ll no doubt be very familiar with the designer brand’s range of modern, patterned wallpaper and home furnishings which take their influences from holidays to mid-century British textiles and vintage toys. I’ve long been an admirer and their colour and styling is right up my street.
Very excitingly they have now launched a range of stylish home fragrances featuring candles and reed diffusers in 4 different patterns – ‘Paisley Crescent’, ‘Darjeeling’, ‘Pavilion’ and ‘Whitby’. If you know me at all you probably won’t be surprised to learn that the Pavilion was a must-have since the scent is Gin Fizz featuring lemon and juniper berry with a hint of geranium, and as a bit of a gin connoisseur it doesn’t disappoint. The fragrance is strong without being overbearing and easily competes with our pet-filled home.
The diffuser itself is beautifully made, featuring a tumbler sized vessel to hold the oil, Chinese bamboo lid and dark reeds. The packaging is high end and ideal for a gift, priced at £30 and definitely worth the price. I do find typically with any home fragrance that you get what you pay for and it’s important for me to have long-lasting scents that don’t fade away after a couple of days. The Pavilion print features mainly yellows and greys and is perfect for our living room.
I also chose one of the Darjeeling candles for our new-look bedroom. I’ve been spending so much time there lately because it’s such a tranquil space and the delicate notes of tea with fresh green fig are ideal for helping to maintain that calm, peaceful haven. I love escaping there at the end of a working day especially as being on the top floor it’s so far away from the rest of the house.
That said, as it is the newer build part of our 1930’s home having been completed as a loft conversion by the previous owners, it can feel very stuffy and warm especially during the summer. The Darjeeling candle effortlessly disperses the air and I *may* have drifted off to sleep leaving Pete to blow it out. The candles retail at £24 and are also beautifully packaged like the diffusers. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up from me as we try to combat the smells of Maddie rolling in everything that she shouldn’t…
Thank you so much to Mini Moderns for supplying some of their gorgeous products for an honest review. All words and images are my own unless otherwise stated.
