Home Etc #119 – Home and Interiors Link Up

Home Etc - Home and Interiors Link Up

Who else has noticed that autumn is very definitely with us now? We took Maddie for a lovely walk in Greenwich on Sunday morning and the leaves are starting to fall whilst squirrels dash around frantically securing their hibernation food. I’m happy about the changing seasons, as much as I’ll miss summer. I feel ready to try and tackle lots of little home improvements before Christmas. Or at least, have someone clever to come and help us with things.

The truth is, I’ve realised that we’re not naturally passionate about doing things ourselves. It doesn’t come easily if at all, to get home from work and break out the paintbrushes. This is one of the reasons it takes us so long to get things done. If outsourcing is the way forward, so be it. I know I take so much pride and pleasure in looking at a room I’ve painted but if I only do one room a year, we’ll never get this house done.

So onwards and upwards, I have a little list of things that need to be ticked off and the motivation is back! Thanks in no small part to the wonderful world of interiors bloggers, you really all are the best bunch. It makes me realise that anything is possible and challenges me to find new styles and ideas.

THE HOME ETC FAVOURITE

Thank you all so much once again for joining us and helping to spread the word. Reading through all the posts which is pretty much my new Sunday afternoon/evening activity is the best!

The favourite for last week was Anne Marie at Very Me Interiors, who has given us a masterclass in how to create a small office space when you don’t have a separate room. I often feel so stuck for ideas and this is such a wonderful use of space. I love the warm, deep blue on the walls contrasting against the white floorboards and all Anne-Marie’s little accessories and touches.

Congratulations Anne Marie  — you’re now in the running to win this month’s voucher from our fabulous sponsor, Laura Ashley.

Now it’s your turn, please do join in with any home/upcycling/DIY/craft/interiors-related posts.

HOW TO LINK UP…

All we ask is that you follow these 3 little rules:

1) Please include our lovely #HomeEtc badge at the bottom of your post.

2) You may link up to two posts — new or old — but no more than two posts each week please.

3) Please be kind enough to comment on your HOSTS’ POSTS which will always be the first two entries in the link up, plus a couple of others.

Blog hops only work if you’re as generous with your comments as you are at sharing your posts.

Be sure to tweet us @booandmaddie or @twinklediaries with the url to your post, using the hashtag #HomeEtc and we will always retweet. We will pick 1 favourite post each week then at the end of the month we’ll choose an overall winner.

This lucky blogger will receive a £20 voucher from our fabulous sponsor Laura Ashley. Don’t forget to keep using the #HomeEtc hashtag on Instagram too! We just love to see your Instagram photographs and remember next week your host is Caro!

Today I re-arranged furniture and changed around some carpets and when the kid came back from school (8y old, Y4) he was gutted. “Mom”, he said, “why do you ALWAYS have to change things, are you not happy with what you have?”

Oh boy, I am in trouble.
Finally found a way to add the HomeEtc badge on my posts hurray.

Even I used to ask my parent’s the same thing like why do you need to rearrange stuff and confuse me.

Love it, my parents never moved anything. Once a room was done, that was that until it all started falling apart!
