Guest Bedroom Reflections With Exclusive Mirrors

If there’s one thing I’m learning with our long-term home renovation, it’s one step forward ten steps back. Progress is slow and I sometimes don’t know which way to turn. The flip side is that sometimes the smallest changes relatively speaking make the biggest difference. Our third bedroom is about 75% complete. It’s the current guest room AND I’ve cheekily comandeered it for a dressing room. It’s got amazing light and is the perfect space for our new mirror from Exclusive Mirrors.

We used to have a small ‘full length’ mirror hanging on the wall in our bedroom until I redecorated last Easter and it went to the skip. Now I’ve rejigged the furniture in there the wall space for a big mirror has gone. Our current guest bedroom however is the perfect spot! We had cupboards built into both alcoves to house Pete’s epic CD collection and the wall between them is crying out for a statement piece.

Very kindly Exclusive Mirrors have come to the rescue. They asked what I was looking for and what decor style the room currently is before making some suggestions. I’d fallen in love with the idea of something large that could lean against the wall, perfect for outfit posts for Instagram of course.

I chose the Florence Ivory Ornate Leaner Mirror. It can also be hung on the wall but I love the look of leaner mirrors. Our style is a mix of old and new – the house was built in the early 1930’s and we’re recreating many period features like the picture rails but mixing it with a contemporary look too. I’m also impatiently awaiting some AMAZING wallpaper to be hung in this room which will compliment the mirror perfectly. I just need to find reliable traders first, sometimes that seems an impossibility.

This room has come such a long way since we moved in, albeit slowly. The walls were pale pink (not a blush kind, but a candyfloss kind) with a thick carpet on the floor. We still need to replace the windows and radiator but I love sitting on the sofa bed and looking out over the garden. It catches beautiful afternoon light and feels like such a tranquil space.

I can’t honestly say that speed is my strong point with our home renovation and it probably never will be unless the Euromillions magically appear from somewhere. Despite that, chipping away at all these little jobs makes me so happy. Fingers crossed our beautiful wallpaper will finally be hung at the beginning of March and who knows, maybe the room will be finished this year.

Love the colour and paint finish on the mirror.

I love leaner mirrors! They make such a statement. You know, I’d usually opt for a silver frame, but I really love the frame colour on this mirror! Looking forward to seeing the completed room. #HOMEETC
